Travels of a Thailand Teacher!!

The time has come for me to again write a blog to keep you all updated on my travels and next year abroad.  With my blog I hope to fill you in a bit on my life and travels!

On October 13th I will begin a new adventure.  On my first day as a 22 year old I will be traveling many hours to finally arrive in Ubon Ratchathani, a small city in the northeastern part of Thailand.  While I am there I will have my own apartment and job as an English teacher.  I will be teaching English at a private school for secondary students from 7th-12th grade.

A: Ubon Ratchathani

A: Assumption College of Ubon (My new school!)

Now that my trip is nearly two weeks away I am getting increasingly excited, and it feels even close since I'll be leaving Vermont in a week (to spend time in NC).  The plans are all falling into place.  Soon enough I'll be on my way and letting you know what it's like in Thailand not knowing the language and being in the midst of an entirely different culture!!

As far as my blog goes, since I love photography and feel that pictures can speak heaps (to use some of my NZ lingo!) there will be many pictures and fewer words.  Those words that I do use though, I must apologize(especially to Aubrey Lynn, my main editor and writing mentor), will have tpyos, Grammar mistakes, and mispellins (and sadly although I am a teacher, I must admit I still question comma usage, or my lack there of, far too much).  But after all, as many know, especially busy teachers….

So excuse the mistakes I know I'll make.

I'm hoping to share a piece of my journey with those that are interested, and have a way to help stay in touch with friends and family. Hope you enjoy!  Soon I'll be writing to you from Thailand!!!!
